GOLDEN CONNECTION is a dual light sculpture installation presented during Harper’s BAZAAR Art Night at the Four Seasons Hotel in Hong Kong, conceived to explore the interplay between culture and technology at a moment of expanding global exchange. Through large-scale illumination and custom sequencing, the work situates connectivity as both a symbolic and spatial experience.

Created for the inaugural Art Basel Hong Kong celebrations, the installation formed part of a gala organized by Harper’s BAZAAR Art and the Royal Academy of Arts, marking Hong Kong’s emergence as a major center within the global art market.

Comprising a monumental ballroom sculpture and a complementary foyer installation, GOLDEN CONNECTION activated the architecture of the Four Seasons Hotel, using reflective materials and LEDs to generate an immersive, site-responsive environment.

The work advances Grimanesa Amorós’s ongoing investigation of light as a medium for cultural dialogue, aligning with the event’s theme “Art Changes the World” and framing technology as a conduit for cross-border exchange.

Presented by Harper’s BAZAAR Art, one of Asia’s most influential art publications, the project engaged an international audience and reinforced conversations around contemporary art, design, and the cultural economies surrounding Art Basel Hong Kong.

GOLDEN CONNECTION illuminates the interplay between cultures and the significance of technology in bridging boundaries.
